Now a new startup is going to take entry to compete with them.
Bengaluru-based EV startup River has launched its first e-scooter named Indie. This electric scooter has been launched with a starting price of Rs 1.25 lakh. The booking of this electric scooter has been started and the deliveries will start from August 2023. However, the first deliveries will start in Bengaluru and then it will be sold in 50 cities by next year.
At the same time, let us tell you that River Indie is being called the SUV of scooters. It will be available in 3 color options including Spring Yellow, Summer Red and Monsoon Blue.

River Indie features and specifications
Talking about the features and specifications, along with safeguards, the e-scooter has been given features like lock-n-load panniers up to 40 liters and top-box up to 25 liters. The sleek taillights and turn indicators are all LED. At the same time, clip-on handlebars have also been given in River.
The Rive electric scooter also gets front-set footpegs, which ensures maximum utilization of the floorboard. Other features include 14″ alloy wheels, 240mm and 200mm discs (front/rear), twin rear shock absorbers, front telescopic forks. The Indie electric scooter, on the other hand, comes with CBS system and 165 mm ground clearance.
The company has given a 4 kWh battery pack in the Indie electric scooter. Along with this, a standard charger has been made available. With this charger, the battery will be charged from 0-80 percent in 5 hours. It is powered by a 6.7 kW mid-mounted motor that produces peak power of up to 26 Nm. The indie electric scooter can accelerate from 0-40 kmph in just 3.9 seconds. By the way, its top speed is 90 kmph.

River Indie electric scooter will compete with these scooters
There are three riding modes in this electric scooter, which include Eco, Ride and Rush mode. The rider of the scooter will be able to switch these modes with the help of a switchgear, which will be visible in the digital LCD dashboard. Let us tell you that the River Indie EV has a gradeability of up to 18 degrees, Ola S1 Pro more than 15 degrees and Ather 450X less than 20 degrees.
By the way, the River offers 12 liters of storage in the front apron and a massive 43 liters of under-seat storage with lights and a USB port. Apart from this, it has got 90-degree valve stem for the wheels, USB charging port on the handlebar and a strong hook integrated in its seat.
